ITC for security services created in Region-7

Cebu City, Philippines. There is unity in diversity when the Philippine Association of Detective and Protective Agency Operators, Inc. (PADPAO, Inc.) and Association of Private Security Agency Operators of the Philippines, Inc. (APSAO, Inc.) formed alliance and successfully created the Tripartite Industry Council for Security Services last April 26, 2019 under the Chairmanship of DOLE 7 Regional Director Salome O. Siaton, who administered the oath-taking ceremony of its Board of Trustees on May 1, 2019.

“I would like to congratulate the new set of Board of Trustees of the ITC for Security Services. Their call to duty is highly significant in providing a continuing forum for tripartite advisement and consultation in their industry,” said Director Siaton who, in just two months of her new post in Region 7, was able to get the security services organized, inspiring the following set of officers:

Vice Chair (Management)

DOLE-7 Assistant Regional Director Lilia A. Estillore, who facilitated the organizational meeting of said security organizations with Engr. Vicente D. Abordo and Ms. Maria Flordeliza S. Duremdes on 26 April 2019, thanked all Security Agencies that demonstrated cooperation with open minds toward unifying themselves into one tripartite council.

“We were just so happy that despite the breakup of these two big organizations of security agencies in Cebu, they are both open to the creation of the ITC as they both share the same sentiments and concerns. The ITC will be a good avenue in empowering workers and employers organizations while enhancing their respective rights. It is but timely that Security Agencies and their guards be heard and be consulted on issues affecting their industry. Such would include under-cutting, as well as substandard contracts,” said Asst. Director Estillore.

The DOLE urged all ITCs and TIPCs to religiously continue making their councils a sound avenue for settling issues and concerns in their respective sectors. If there are alarm signals in each sector, the councils can play a very vital role in addressing concerns and issues before they escalate into full blown disputes.
