DOLE RCC-7 to launch 7S


Cebu City, Philippines. The DOLE Regional Coordinating Committee (DOLE-RCC 7) now in full preparations as its Member-Agencies challenged themselves anew with the implementation of the 7S of Good Housekeeping – the expanded version of the 5S program.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-7) being the head agency of the DOLE RCC-7, will be initiating the revival and launching of the 7S program, Friday, 20 September 2019.

The initiative is an offshoot of the regular meetings being conducted among the members of the RCC, with the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB-7) being the overall 7S lead Agency.

“We see the revival of the 5S now 7S being as a very important tool for workplace organization. For us to be efficient in our delivery of the kind of service that our clients require of us, it is only but fitting that we optimize the physical workplaces of each Office,” said DOLE-7 Regional Director Salome O. Siaton, who also sits as the Chairperson of the DOLE RCC-7.

Optimizing the workplaces would mean, Director Siaton explained, identifying and storing the items used; maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the area; and sustaining the new order to ensure safety of the workers in the most efficient manner.

The launching of the 7S of Good Housekeeping program will start at 8:30 A.M. on Friday at the PDOS Room of the OWWA-7 Office, DOLE-7 Building, Cebu City. It is expected to gather the heads and 7S focal persons of the DOLE-RCC member-agencies that will include the following, namely: Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA); Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA); National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO); RTWPB; National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB); Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC); Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC); Professional Regulation Commission (PRC); National Labor Relations Commission-7th Division;  National Labor Relations Commission-Regional Arbitration Brach; and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).
