One-Stop-Shop for all at Parkmall, Mandaue City in October

Cebu City, Philippines. From October 2 to 4, 2019, workers and employers who don’t have time to transact at the offices of the Social Security System (SSS); Philhealth; and PAG-IBIG can process their membership, registration or remittances at the Parkmall, Mandaue City.

According to DOLE-7 Regional Director Salome O. Siaton, the setting up of the One-Stop-Shop Services is the initiative of the Industry Tripartite Council (ITC) in Wholesale and Retail.

The Council, she added, found it extremely essential to provide an avenue not only for workers but also for employers, who do not have ample time to visit the respective offices of SSS, Philhealth and PAG-IBIG and process documentary requirements.

The provision of the services is not only limited to the members of the ITC-Wholesale and Retail but also to the general public.

“We are inviting everyone to visit the One-Stop-Shop set up by the ICT-Wholesale and Retail next month and take advantage of the services to be extended by our partner-agencies,” said Director Siaton, who also sits as Chairperson of the council.

She commended the Council for such initiative, adding that its Board of Trustees (BOTs) will also be around during the 3-day event for supervision and monitoring.

Best practices such as the one being initiated by the Council should also be replicated by other ITCs, added the DOLE-7 Head.

The ITC-Wholesale and Retail is one of the existing active ITCs in Region-7 which include the ITCs in Construction; Education; Hospitals; Hotels, Resorts, Restaurants, and Tourism; Maritime; Manufacturing; Shipbuilding and Ship Repair; Business Process Outsourcing; Bus Transport; and Security Services. Added to the list are four (4) District Tripartite Councils (DTCs) in BOMEDCO in Medellin Cebu and in Tolong, Manjuyod, and Bais City in Negros Oriental.

“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the SSS, Philhealth and PAG-IBIG for always heeding to our requests for convergence initiatives. Also, our deepest thanks go out to the management of Parkmall for giving us a space where we can set up the One-Stop-Shop. We hope that with this joint initiative, many will be able to benefit and comply with what the law requires on social welfare benefits,” said Director Siaton.
