Cebu City, Philippines. Thirteen (13) public schools became the latest recipients of the “Bond paper Ko, Module Mo,” Project of the Department of Labor and Employment.

The second batch of selected schools received reams of bond paper and printers in a turnover ceremony held last week, which was witnessed by the different members of the Regional Council Against Child Labor (RCACL) and by the representatives of the Department of Education’s Divisions of Cebu City, Mandaue City, Cordova District-Cebu Province, and Lapulapu City.

The project benefited the following public schools: Gabi Elementary School; Day-as Elementary School; Ibabao Elementary School; Ibabao Elementary School; Cordova National High School; Pusok National High School; Babag National High School; and Maribago High School from Lapulapu City and Cordova.

Also in the list are some schools from Cebu City and Mandaue City that included Don Sergio Osmena Sr. Memorial National High School; Tejero National High School; Kamputhaw Elementary School; Mandaue Comprehensive Hational High School; Paknaan National High School; and Tipolo National High School.

DOLE-7 Assistant Regional Director Lilia A. Estillore, who represented Regional Director Salome O. Siaton to the event, thanked everyone involved for their generosity, commitment, kindness and determination that made sure that continued education is given to the children/students thereby making a difference in their lives.

World Vision, one of the active RCACL members, donated the reams of bond paper and printers in support to the “Bond paper Ko, Module Mo,” Project of DOLE, which was first introduced by the Department on December 2020.

“We are so happy that this project received a very positive response from our partners. We have the World Vision to thank to. Thank you for helping us continue this advocacy of helping the children pursue their schooling by way of providing them resources for their modules,” said Director Siaton, who also sits as the RCACL Chairperson.

Donors and RCACL partners received certificates of appreciation from the DOLE, which the Regional Director said was the Department’s gesture of sincere gratitude to everyone, who understood the objectives of the “Bond paper Ko, Module Mo,” Project and the positive impact it could yield toward the fight against child labor.

Recognized during the ceremony were the following, namely: Philippine National Police; Commission on Human Rights; Department of Interior and Local Government; Feed the Children; Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.; and World Vision.

To recall, the DOLE rolled out the “Bond paper Ko, Module Mo,” Project in December last year benefiting two public schools in Mandaue City and another one in Cebu City, which all received reams of bond paper and hygiene and sanitation kits.
