Nurses and caregivers needed abroad: POEA

Cebu City, Philippines. Home-based caregivers and nurses are needed abroad.

In the latest DOLE-Regional Coordinating Committee (DOLE-RCC) Meeting, Ms. Glenda Aligonza, Officer-in-Charge of POEA-Cebu reported that at least 500 home-based caregivers are need in Israel and registered nurses are in-demand in Germany.

“This is the latest of the POEA’s Government to Government Job Hiring program,” said Aligonza, who encouraged jobseekers who want to work abroad, take advantage of said employment opportunities.

For the applicants for the home-based caregivers in Israel, the job would require them to provide skilled caregiving assistance to Persons with Disabilities including elderly disabled persons.

“In the recruitment specification form or RSF, one can see the terms and conditions concerning their workplace and work week, estimated minimum salary, weekly rest day, holidays and vacation, accommodation and other benefits,” she added.

Applicants need to comply with the following documentary requirements: (1) Print-out of E-Registration account; (2) Certificate of online Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS); (3) TESDA NC II for Caregiver with copy of Training Certificate from a TESDA accredited Training Center; (4) Scanned copy of Passport (data page,valid for at least three years; (5) NBI Clearance NBI, which should be six months from the date of issuance; (6) Copy of Birth Certificate issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA); (7) Copy of UMID ID; (8) Copy of Driver’s License (if any); and (9) Other requirements or criteria as may be specified by Population Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA).

Deadline for the submission of the home-based caregiver applications will be on 25 February 2021, Thursday.

Germany is also in need of additional registered nurses. According to Aligonza, the POEA continues to accept applications for hospitals and nursing facilities in Germany under the Triple Win Project, also under the country’s government to government arrangement with said country.

Applicants must be registered nurses with at least one-year bedside experience either in the following specializations: (1) Intensive Care Unit; (2) Geriatric Care/Nursing Home/Elderly Care; (3) General Ward; (4) Medical and Surgery Ward; (5) Operating Room; (6) Psychiatry; and (7) Neurology, Orthopedics and related fields.

Applicants, who will land on the job will be offered with benefits covering their salaries, travel expenses, and board and lodging.

Qualified applicants should register online at or http://online and personally submit needed documents at the POEA Regional Center for Visayas, Cebu City, Ground Floor, DOLE VII Bldg., Gen. Maxilom corner Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City.

Applicants are reminded to get ready with the following, namely: (1) Cover letter and curriculum vitae with colored passport-sized picture; (2) Nursing Diploma (copy); (3) Board Certificate and copy of license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC): (4) Certificates of Employment in related field – previous and current; (5) Attendance and/or level certificate for German Language, if available; and (6) Valid passport copy.

Deadline for the submission of applications will be on 24 February 2021, Wednesday.

DOLE-7 Regional Director Salome O. Siaton said that getting a job through POEA has many advantages. “First, the applicant is assured that the job offer abroad is legal and the employer is well respected. This will tell them that what they are about to plunge into will not do them any harm. Second, there’s going to be no placement fee required. Third, the application processing period is fast because the job requirement is usually urgent in nature,” she explained.

Director Siaton sits as the Chairperson of the DOLE RCC, where the POEA is one of its active member-agencies.
