DOLE programs info caravan done in Bohol

Cebu City, Philippines.Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers, representatives from the Provincial Government of the Province of Bohol, and seventy (70) other Teacher-OFWs flocked to the Information Caravan recently spearheaded by the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The NRCOpurposely gathered the Department’s social partners in the hopes of reaching to as many beneficiaries as possible making its programs and services and that of the Department widely known in the Province.

NRCO-7 Regional Coordinator, Mr. Dexter F. Paro, in a statement, said that there is a need to amplify to everyone what available programs and services that the DOLE and NRCO’s clients could potentially avail of.

The DOLE’s latest pronouncements, issuances, and amendments to existing program guidelines need to be highlighted in order to increase public awareness.

“The public has to know that for returning teacher-OFWs for one, we have the Sa Pinas, Ikawang Ma’am/Sir or SPIMS program for them. In fact, in the Province of Bohol alone, there are already around thirty Teacher-OFWs, who have benefited the program,” he proudly said.

During the Information-Caravan, said SPIMS beneficiaries, who are now working in their respective schools of assignment, were recognized and given certificates.

Other programs given highlights were the K-12 DOLE Adjustment Measures Program (DOLE-AMP) and the programs and services of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA-7).

Gracing the activity held on 27 December 2017 were representatives from the Department of Education; Technical Education Skills and Development Authority; and the Regional PESO Managers (REPESOM-7) in the person of Ms. Ma. Vilma C. Yorong, President.
