PESOs, DOLE to hold job fairs

Cebu City, Philippines. Jobs are up for grabs. Jobseekers could try their luck and seek employment opportunities during the conduct of two (2) job fairs slated to take place tomorrow, 31 January and on 10 February 2018.

In Siquijor, a local and overseas job fair will be spearheaded by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO-Larena) tomorrow at the Queengate Center, North Poblacion, Larena.

Participant-employers covered Qualfon-Dumaguete; Prince Hypermart-Larena; and O.T.G. International Placement Agency.

Positions needed locally would include call center agents; team leaders; sales associates; in-house merchandizers; roving merchandizers; and baggers.

Overseas positions posted, on the other hand, are household workers; private nurses; cleaners; family drivers; tailors; flower makers; and cooks; among others mostly for Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait.

As part of its regular and consistent implementation of the employment facilitation program, the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP) or PESO-Cebu City will be conducting a local job fair on 10 February at the Margaret Gym of Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.

There are already fifteen (15) employers registered to participate that included Leylam Shawarma; Ruiz Derma; SM Department Store; Nuat That Foot and Body Massage; SM Hypermarket; Wheeltech; Tech Mahindra; Ace Hardware; Robinsons Retail; Harbour City Dimsum House Corportation, Inc.; Cebu Progress; Finex Marketing; Color Steel; and Dunkin Donuts.

Jobseekers could pre-register at designated PESOs and be ready with pertinent documents which will be used by prospective employers as basis for hiring and accepting applicants.

DOLE-7 OIC-Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao advised applicants to prepare their biodata, picture (2x2), certificate of employment if available, diploma or transcript of records, and authenticated birth certificate

“Jobseekers should make sure to come early to designated job fair venues. They have to proceed to the registration area immediately and fill-out prescribed forms with necessary pieces of information,” said Ticao.

The conduct of job fairs targets to fast-track the meeting of jobseekers and employers/overseas recruitment agencies in one venue at a specific date to reduce cost, time and effort particularly on the part of the applicants. Job fairs are open to all unemployed, skilled and unskilled workers, fresh college graduates, graduates of training institutions, displaced workers and employees seeking advancement.
