Cebu City, Philippines (08 June 2023). The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-7) will provide jobseekers opportunities to land a job on June 12 as it will hold two (2) simultaneous Job Fairs offering over 5,000 job vacancies.
In line with the celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence and Nationhood in Cebu City and in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, DOLE-7 has partnered with the Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) in organizing the Kalayaan Job Fairs to be held at SM Seaside City Cebu and at the Robinsons Place- Dumaguete City.
As of today, 08 June 2023, DOLE-7 has tallied a total of 5,245 vacant positions that are up for grabs.
For the Cebu City job fair, there are 2,317 available positions waiting for applicants that come from 30 participating employers.
DOLE-7 Regional Director, Lilia A. Estillore encouraged all jobseekers in Cebu to take advantage of the job fair since there will also be transportation assistance that will be provided. “In coordination with the Department of Manpower Development and Placement, our partners for the Cebu City Kalayaan Job Fair, ANGKAS and My Bus, will support us on June 12 by ferrying jobseekers to and from the job fair site, which is at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu.
Using the promo code, AKSXDMDP, passengers or jobseekers will get a Php25.00 off for their rides using ANGKAS.
My Bus, on the other hand, will offer free ride services at their designated stops. “We invite everybody to like and follow us on Facebook – DOLE Central Visayas- to be able to view the full details of the transportation assistance that will be accessible to all, who will go to the job fair venue on June 12,” said Director Estillore.
For the Cebu City Kalayaan Job Fair, the top positions being offered by employers are the following, namely:
- Health care associates- 200;
- Retails associates- 200;
- Service Crew- 200;
- Social Media Specialists- 100;
- Customer Representatives- 100; and
- Outbound Sales Representatives- 100.
In Dumaguete City, jobseekers are advised to go straight to Robinsons Place to choose from the 2,078 local positions available and around 850 postings for overseas employment that come from the 46 participating employers with the following top positions posted:
- Customer Service Representatives- 600;
- Production Support Crew- 300; and
- ESL Teachers- 100.
Director Estillore urged the jobseekers to pre-register ahead of time. Applicants in Cebu are advised to pre-register at https://bit.ly/2023KalayaanJF.
Jobseekers should be ready with the following pre-employment requirements:
- Biodata;
- Picture (2×2);
- Certificate of Employment (if available);
- Diploma/Transcript of Records; and
- Authenticated Birth Certificate.
“We continue to help expand employment opportunities. And it is our mandate that we promote gainful employment opportunities for the public through the conduct of job fairs. Through this initiative, we hope to produce more hired on the spot or HOTS thereby freeing them from unemployment or underemployment. We encourage everybody who is looking for a job to take full advantage of our Kalayaan job fairs on June 12,” said Director Estillore.
